According to WHO, the UN, annual victims of road accidents worldwide are 1.3 million people and around 50 million injured or disabled. Road traffic injuries cost countries (for calculation methods approved by WHO UN) of $ 518 billion per year, and taking in average from one to two percent of their gross national product (GDP). So, for example, our closest neighbor, Russia loses annually because of an accidents 37 billion U.S. dollars, and Kazakhstan 3.5 billion U.S. dollars.
According to WHO strategical research, the number of casualties could rise at least for 60% over the next 10 years, as the result the mortality from accident will take the second place after heart diseases and depression.
